Humanization of highly immunodeficient NSG mice with hematopoietic stem cells or peripheral blood mononuclear cells provides a powerful platform for very precise modeling of human immune responses. These immune-humanized platforms enable researchers to test a wide range of human-specific therapeutic approaches developed to either up or down regulate immune function.
